Frequently Asked Questions

Are all photos on your website of your work?

Most definitely. They are either works in progress or completed works Croft View Construction have carried out.

What makes you different to other builders?

We are passionate about every aspect of our work! While applying our core values - honesty, transparency, integrity, respect - we work hard to manage your project with minimum stress and maximum satisfaction. We don't just pay lip service to our values; you can measure us on how we apply those values to every stage of our interaction with you. For example, we strive to be as transparent as possible. Open, honest, clear communication from first contact to completion. A detailed, clear quote for your whole project - you will know exactly what is and what is not included, no surprises. A full programme of works will tell you exactly when the team are due on site and exactly what they will be doing while they are there. We ensure there are open lines of communication with the Croft View Team at all stages of the project.

How can I confirm the quality of your work?

The best way is to find out what our customers say about our work. You can read testimonials and case studies, we regularly update social media with ongoing projects, and you can view images of our work when we come to visit you. How long will I have to wait before you start working on my project?

We aim to maintain the shortest lead time possible from your instruction to proceed and we will do our utmost to accommodate your timescales. Lead times vary from project to project depending on our current schedule, the time of year, and whether your project requires specialist materials that have a longer order and delivery period. Our projects are run efficiently, rotating our teams from site to site depending on the task required.

How long will my project take?

When you come on board with us, you are given a start date and you are given an end date. Not only that, you are given a full programme of works. You will know what day the groundworks team are laying foundations. You will know what day the first course of bricks is being laid. You will know what day the windows are fitted, the wiring is being done, and the toilet is being installed. The programme can be affected by changes to the scope of works and by things outwith our control, e.g., the weather, labour, and materials.

How long are quotations valid for?

This is usually 3 months. If you require a longer price guarantee, please speak to us. If you decide to proceed after the 3-month period, we will review the quote to verify whether materials costs, etc. have increased in the interim.

Are you Gas Safe registered?

All of our contracted heating engineers and plumbers are Gas Safe registered.

Is there any negotiating on the cost of my project?

We price everything competitively in the first instance. We provide exceptional value for money, and the quality of our work and the level of our service is what sets us apart from other builders.

We are looking at purchasing a property and would like an estimate for our desired works. Is this service free?

No. If you own the property, we are happy to offer a free quotation. Otherwise, it is costed at £50 per hour plus VAT. As you can probably appreciate, doing estimates for many properties that are not owned is very time consuming. They are more often than not used as a bargaining tool in the purchase process. We will provide an estimate of the total charge before we meet with you. The fee is also deducted from the cost of the works once we are instructed.
