Garden Room – Salon

Croft View Construction believe that installing a bespoke Garden Room is a fantastic way to utilise your outside space, while creating a whole new area and room to extend and improve your indoor living.

When you are in need of more space, many options are costly, complicated and entail a range of potential complications such as planning permission and restrictions created by your current house structure.

A garden room is different. We aren’t talking about a glorified shed, which is cold in the winter, boiling in the summer and drafty and damp all year round. Our garden rooms are made from strength graded structural timbers, fully insulated, with a 10 year guarantee. All electricity, plumbing and lighting options are possible in order to make it a room away from home. With a huge range of finishes such as slate roof and oak flooring, the rooms are attractive and stylish to suit your home.

By utilising the space in your garden you can create a room that’s completely separate from the main house, yet as close or far from it as you desire. Our rooms are made completely bespoke for whatever need you have.

The Brief

Our brief on this project was to create a fully serviced and insulated timber frame garden room at the bottom of the customers garden to be used as a stand alone hair salon for a self employed hair dresser working from home. New block paved parking bays and path for access was created for customers so they didn’t need to go through the house at all. The room needed to look sleek and stylish for the level of clientele as well as being functional and spacious to work for the customer.

In the Beginning

We began by digging out an area for the concrete base in order for the room to sit level with the existing garden. We formed a concrete base for the room to sit on and erected a fence to smarten the perimeter. Next we connected all the services required to site. These ran from the services already connected to the house.

The Ongoing Project

We constructed the timber frame and cladding on site. The whole frame was created within a day. The frame was covered in a breathable membrane to make it water tight. We then felted the roof which was flat to keep it within the permitted guidelines so as not to require planning permission.  We fitted PVC doors and windows making the whole structure watertight. Following this we needed to insulate and plaster board internally and connect the electrics and plumbing.

The Finish

We laid a laminate floor in the salon and fit skirtings as well as a bespoke hair dressers washing unit in the centre. With forethought, we installed the plumbing so that the pipes came up from the floor. This meant that no pipes were ever visible. The room was painted and spotlights were installed both inside and out. The room looks and feels like a sleek and stylish room within any high end salon.
